Originally purchased by Rudy Cielke in , by the diner was under the helm of local cook Anthony Cisowski. I have to face the people. I depend on them, they depend on me. So what does a small town do with a historic diner needing a little TLC? But with a sizeable donation from the Historical Society , the Torrington Historic Preservation Trust could finally make the move.

It was owned and run by the Cisowski brothers. The diner itself was a manufactured building that was made in the late s-part of a trend that began in that decade and lasted until just after World War II. Skee's has a classic manufactured diner aesthetic. We've heard from people who don't even live around here who have said, 'Oh you're going to save that diner! Members of both the trust and the Historical Society are excited to see the project move into Phase II. The preservation trust's goal is to keep this piece of history in Torrington, where it can continue to be a significant landmark in our town while contributing to the revitalization of Torrington as an important destination for residents and visitors.
